A senior show source said: “Geri is not just a guest judge — she is our judge-in-waiting.

We want her to do it and she wants to do it. We will be watching her like a hawk at Liverpool and fingers crossed it will go well and she’ll be signed. 

We’re not talking to anyone else.

Despite the fact that the ex spice girl hasn’t been very well received by the X Factor audience, Take That’s Gary Barlow is supporting Geri Halliwell’s campaign to join him, Tulisa, and Simon on the judging panel permanently.

He told The Mirror:  “I know Geri Halliwell and I think she will make a good guest judge and we could be seeing more of her on the show.”
